No; this is a really dumb issue. But, college is &lt;i&gt;somewhat&lt;/i&gt; different than pro sports. There&#039;s a bunch of public institutions receiving public money in the league. And, no one can just start a team and join the league because of the government allows&lt;a href=&quot;http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_Baseball_Club_v._National_League&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt;a monopoly over the sport&lt;/a&gt; (similar to baseball).
